It's goofy and that's ok. As kid's movies go this's ok. Thora Birch plays a spunky girl who wants a pet much to her parents dismay. That all changes when an escaped kleptomainac capuchin monkey she names Dodger bumps into her causing her to hide him in her room from her parents. While she teaches him not to steal his owner does everything to retrieve him. I thought it was ok. I remember watching this one time when I was sick and it really helped a lot. The acting was corny and over the top but when it needed to be serious it usually works. The montage of Dodger learning not to steal was cute and hilarious. If you have little kids i'd say they'll enjoy it just fine. Swing on in and get ready to monkey around with this movie.
