Akame ga Kill! (2014– )
5/10
Flawed but Still Decent

Akame ga Kill! is an action anime that has some blairing issues that almost stopped me from enjoying it as much as I did. This series is a fun watch no matter how you feel about it. With a run time that's too short, it seems like they rushed some things to get to all the death in this show. Speaking of death, the handling of death in this show ranges from emotional gut punches that expand on the story to completely meaningless ways to keep you invested. Animation is good in this show but far from the best I've seen, although there's some stand out action scenes that really elevate some episodes. The character development is strange in this show because for the first half of the show, new characters were introduced and immediately had flashbacks of their past where they explain things, only for them to die a few episodes later, the first half really suffers from underdeveloped characters. But after a battle in episodes 16 and 17, all the remaining characters with a couple exceptions are some of the most interesting ones. The story isn't very well written but still manages to be entertaining. Overall, Akame Ga Kill! is something that I can't recommend to everyone, but most definitely could be viewed as a great anime to some people.
