The references to Vertigo and Body Double are glaring, but this film is nowhere near that level. Olivia Thirlby turns in one of the worst performances I've ever seen. A high school kid from an acting class could have done better. Of course, the silly plot couldn't have been saved even by a skilled actress. The lead character morphs inexplicably from a mousy social services investigator to a dressed-to-kill lesbian. It's absurd.
Pretty much a total failure of the "shaking your head in disgust" variety.
