Uninteresting story

Very simple story but uninteresting. The only merit of this movie are the images of a desert green landscape with huge rocks here and there. This is beautiful indeed. A Danish engineer travels to Patagonia in Argentina to take part in the anihillation of an Indian tribe by the Argentinian army. His 15 year old daughter travels with him and falls in love there with a young soldier and one night they run away off the camp where the army stays. This is the beginning of the movie. Almost all the rest shows her father going through the desert trying to find his daughter and meeting strange people including a widow that lives there alone. He never finds the girl and the movie enda by a sudden jump to a totally different scenery: a young girl (is she the engineer's daughter?) living in a mansion in what seems to be Denmark and going to walk outside after talking briefly to a man that is taking care of a few dogs. And this is the end that leaves us ignoring about the real end of the story.
