It's predicy, cliche heavy and incredibly formulaic. It's also got some decent stories, good acting and great comedy. The Jersey girl would be screaming to drop the jersey accent for years. Neither parent has the accent. Anyway. Janet Montgomery is British and does a great job of the lead. A real shame it didn't last longer than 8 episodes. That's not even a half season. I found the family home scenes very funny and a lot of darn good actors dreadfully underused. The stories went so insane and the main character was squeezed between a lawyer and cop type role. So many plot holes. Yet.. I found it light, charming, inoffensive. It was worth much more than 8 episodes. I've watched "Bull" which is similarly preposterous and it's on season 5. The stories and acting are worse. However it has a male lead!! Anyway. Janet Montgomery is terrific. Very good actress.
