Legal Action (2018)
10/10
Great Modern Day Western
28 January 2021
This is what impressed me most about this film was that it rides the edge of being really hokey, but they pull it off really well. The plot line is really well done and the characters are maybe a little cliché, but they are really likable.

I compare it to the western genre because the lawyer (Eric Close) comes across as the gunslinger riding into the town controlled by the Scottish robber baron (Tommy Flanagan). The lawyer/gunslinger is driven by the motive of getting the girl, who is his ex-wife (Tanya Clarke). There's the side kick from all the westerns played by Nick Searcy and Gregory Alan Williams does a great job in his role as the state's attorney.

The western genre is my favorite type of film and I really enjoy when a film can expound on those values.
