His Fatal Fixation (2020 TV Movie)
5 stars because I watched the whole thing. But plotholes and missed opps abound

Warning: Spoilers
His Fatal Fixation I only watched because working from home gives me the chance to not let movies linger on dvr. This movie started out fine then lost its way. I agree w/another reviewer that they didn't go that deep in hiding the stalker BUT I was disappointed. I wrote off the two doctors right away. They tried to get us w/the primary doctor being a familiar face. I knew it wasn't the second doc when he thought she was abusing drugs. The apartment handyman was again obviously not it even though they tried it w/him working on his car. Anyway, the story moved along as expected and we see Lily/Stella falling for her boss. Without rehashing the entire plot, this is where my disappointment began. SPOILERS AHEAD

I was really expecting (hoping) that Lily/Stella was the villain all along. What are the chances that the stalker survived the opening? She had a restraining order against him...presumably the police showed up....nobody told her he either disappeared before they got there or was still alive? REALLY?! Also, the way she reacted after sleeping w/the doctor was supposed to be a red herring but it was really bad writing. Everything pointed to her having a psychotic break. Her psych thought she was potentially dangerous and advised Michael to call the police, but when the "reveal" happened, she's all of a sudden not dangerous? She was put on meds to help w/hallucinating and yet she wasn't hallucinating? Like in the Hamburger Dinner Theater episode of Bob's Burgers..."a lie is not a twist." Seriously...how did he find her? Maybe I missed how far away she moved but do they really expect us to believe he fell off that balcony and was fine in enough time to resume tracking her?! How did he get in the doctor's garage long enough to sabotage the car? Also, the wife just randomly decides to take his car so that she can have the line about bad things happening since Stella arrived. I also found it creepy that the useless detective was practically salivating over hitting Brandon w/a sexual assault charge.

There's another Lifetime movie where the main character pretends to be harassed by her boyfriend's ex in order to get the ex out of their lives. I was hoping this movie was more like that where the lead was the master manipulator. It would have made for a much more satisfying ending. This movie was like another one with the girl from Switched at Birth who the entire two hours was acting inappropriately yet turned out to be the good guy. Disappointment.
