This is a horrible episode. The army of the prime order acted like barbarrians, not romans they are suposed to be inspired by.
No shields, no strategy, no organization. And this is topped off by paper armour(even throwing knives can go through the center, where armor is the strongest), lack of proper chain of command and overal sense that they have no idea what they are doing. How did the prime order even become so dominant when they lack everything you need to hold one city?
This was suposed to be an epic battle, but it turned into "cattle being lead to the slaughter house". And the side having the upper hand in all aespects was playing the role of cattle.
