" . . . then shoot them." Los Angeles mob gun moll Nan takes this aphorism to what passes for her heart, blasting her holier-than-thou admirer Dave at the climax of LADIES THEY TALK ABOUT. After being passed between gangsters Don, Dutch and Lefty, this thoroughly broken-in Anybody's Girl (born a deacon's daughter) chafes at the bit presented by the prospect of being permanently tethered to revivalist Dave as her holy matrimony-sanctioned monogamous ball-and-chain. Unfortunately, she only manages to wing him in his shoulder, leaving her with no way out other than jumping his broom. Since Dave is a sucker for sadder but wiser gals, it's more than likely that Nan can please him with her several degrees in higher sects education.
