Three Young Men Seeking Ordination at a Haunted Temple
3 April 2021
Having promised to become an ordained monk if he should happen to win the lottery, a young gay man by the name of "Balloon" (Tar Atiwat Saengtien) boards a bus with two of his friends which will take him to a temple in a remote part of the country so that he can keep his end of the bargain. It's at this time that they notice another young man by the name of "Nhong" (Paisarnkulwong Vachiravit) who also seeks to become ordained but for entirely different reasons. As it so happens, his girlfriend had just broken up with him at the same time he was fired from his job and as a result he is hoping to end his string of bad karma. In any case, Balloon and his two friends are so excited to see Nhong that they immediately break out into song and dance which indirectly causes the bus to crash-killing one of Balloon's friends. Yet rather than discouraging them from continuing on their journey this tragedy only reinforces their commitment so Nhong, Balloon and his friend "First" (Puwadon Vejvongsa) continue on their way to that same temple. What they don't know is that this temple has had a curse placed upon it by an angry ghost who has vowed to kill anyone who seeks to become ordained-and nobody has become a monk there since that time. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this movie started off well enough with some good comedy on the part of both Balloon and First. Unfortunately, the incessant personal drama between the two of them got more and more annoying as the film progressed and as a result I became less and less enthused with it. That being said, I got rather bored with it after the first 30 minutes or so and for that reason I have rated this picture accordingly.
