A decent movie with a twist at the end

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILER ALERT

A group of friends grow up in an area with little opportunity to get ahead that is only made worse after hurricane Katrina hit.

With no success trying to start a family and get a job in a local publication with his art the main character decides to turn to an in-law to make money doing a heist.

A lot went wrong and they're now on the run and have lost a very close friend in the process of pulling the heist.

Here's where many other reviews seem to have gotten lost.

The three friends didn't do another robbery and die then suddenly reappear after being killed.

The second robbery was part of the main character's art and comic line. His story that he draws shows what happens when you try to buck the system as all three of them get killed in his story.

The last scene shows how well hiss comic and artwork was received and he also gives credit to one of his murals to a cop that motivates him earlier in the movie telling him he can get farther ahead with a pencil than a gun because she recognizes his talent.

And so it's actually a feel good ending not one that depicts them dying and not learning from their mistakes. Plus the main character succeeds in what he has a passion to do, art.
