Having read the reviews on here, I was expecting something special but found it a huge disappointment. I was trying to make allowances for the fact that it was made nearly 30 years ago but I still struggled.
My comments are based on viewing the whole of series one and the first story in S2 (which had three episodes, all with ratings of 9+). Poorly written, poorly directed, and with unbelievable story lines. The police behaved differently then but I cannot believe they were so dim and aggressive. Robbie Coltrane strutted his soliloquies. Impressive delivery but totally unrealistic.
