The Planet Express Crew as Cartoons Leads to Good Fun
29 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The premise of the Futurama gang in cartoons sound like a stupid premise, but really it was a fun and hilarious. The whole thing starts with President Nixon wanting to watch cartoons because, well, it was Saturday morning.

The first segment spoofed Scooby-Doo as Bendie-Boo. It had a mystery of a ghost that was George Takei. I liked the theme song, it was pretty funny. The whole segment was good Scooby-Doo fun The second segment was a Smurfs spoof, but more of advertisement for a fake cereal, Purpleberry Puffs. The whole segment was really weird, as the planet express crew as little residents of a town Purpleberry Pond. The whole segment was weird, but enjoyable The third segment was the worst of the three, which spins off a G. I Joe cartoon from the 1980s. It has Nixon trying to tone down the violence of the show with words, which doesn't work. I would've liked to see the segment without Nixon interfering.

The whole episode was strange, even for Futurama standers. But in the end, it's a fun and funny anthology episode.
