This was one of the best Holocaust dramas of its era. Heartfelt performances and a compelling script easily overcome a very limited budget and some awkwardly staged action scenes. The inmates all have great teeth, and the SS guards and Jewish prisoners all seem to have the same British accent. But that doesn't lessen the intensity of the drama. Be sure to watch the final credits because some of the "where are they now" stories are more dramatic and more unexpected than the story itself.
