Rock School (2005–2006)

This show turned my life around

Warning: Spoilers
Although I didn't see the 2nd series in early 2006, I decided to watch all 4 episodes over & over & over again for most of 2021 as this really got me back into music (mainly classic Dad rock & obscure Noughties dance); for the first few weeks of 2021, music was a bit scarce. I think Gene changed those 12 Lowestoft pupils around; a lot of people associate the show with star pupil Lil', but for me, I had 3 girl crushes (Ellie, Lily & Samanie) who I'll always fancy especially the latter. I really enjoyed the classic Dad/Father's Day CD rock songs with guitars, drums & basses in the background as we were imitating the (rather limited) instruments; after watching this heaps of times, I know that the 12th fret on guitars is very important as it has 2 dots, the story behind Smoke on the Water, famous guitar riffs/chords, learned a lot about the legends such as Judas Priest, Van Halen, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Dave Clark Five etc; thanks to Samanie, I still wouldn't know much today. My funniest bit was when they visited LA Guitar Center where they didn't know who Jimi Hendrix/Eric Clapton were! It still makes me laugh today and many years to follow.
