Pretty good story

I'm a fan of Randolf Scott Westerns so I was sad to that the picture is too dark & has the letters RS at the bottom right of the screen throughout the whole movie. Randolf plays the County Marshall in the town of Abilene. Abilene has problems with rough cattle runners who don't want any homesteaders coming around claiming land & starting farms. The cattle runners are a bunch of bullys who will not listen or follow the Law. They prevent anyone from setting down roots. A group of religious pioneers settle down & fence off some land. They start to till the land to grow food & they start framing cabins. The cattle runners stampede their cattle right through everything killing some men, women, & children. The Sheriff is a coward who won't arrest any of them. The Saloon owner & the head Saloon girl (prostitute) like the cattle runners because they spend a lot of money in the Saloon. The Pilgrims don't want to give up, dig in their heels to stay & ask the Sheriff & Marshall to help. They start rebuilding. The cattle runners light the Pilgrims buggies & cabins on fire. The Sheriff won't arrest anyone. It's up to the Marshall Randolf Scott to straighten out the town of Abilene. I didn't like that in this movie Randolf Scott is the hero & Marshall but he's in love with the town Hooker. And this Saloon girl is on the side of the bad guys! She fights Randolf Scott ever step of the way, constantly saying rude things to him & kicking him repeatedly on the shin with her sharp heels. And still Randolf is always polite to her & even kisses her. At the end they end up together. I didn't think that made sense & would've preferred Randolf ending up with a decent girl he could marry & have kids with.

Bhas a crush on the evil Saloon girl who fights him every step of the way.
