I cannot describe in words how good this series was. I was constantly at the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. The characters are indeed corrupted by the things they faced in their earlier years, but I saw it more in a sad way rather than a demented one. At first it was mainly for the fright and the messed up games, but it eventually evolved into a sad reality for two different people who share similar pain. In that retrospect, the story and plot get more sad and deep as you progress. Theres also a lot of religious mentions which I believe adds a more cult like twist; very interesting! 100% recommend this anime, you will not regret watching it.
