This show has, like too many others recently, seemingly made the assumption that all viewers are multilingual, and therefore foreign dialect (French, Russian, Japanese, or in this case, Spanish) does not need to be spoken in English for the English-speaking audience. The resulting need for captions means that a considerable portion of the scenes must be read (as I don't happen to be a fluent Spanish speaker). This means that I have to pay close attention to the screen, and might miss important parts of the action because I am reading the ferschlugginer subtitles!
Now I know that not all the world is English-speaking, and I don't expect foreign shows and movies to be always re-shot or dubbed into English (although Netflix seems to be able to do this on a remarkably consistent basis). But when a show includes North American actors speaking English dialog, it is evident that the target market is North America, which is predominantly English-speaking. So why all the Spanish dialog? Just because the show is made in Spain doesn't necessarily mean that none of the actors are able to speak a word of English, so I would have watched this series and enjoyed it if I weren't tied to the darn subtitles most of the time!
PS: To those concerned with the "history" and "nationality" of the treasure that was "stolen" by the Americans -- I must therefore assume that the Spanish mined and smelted the gold and silver from the raw ore that they found in the Americas. If not, then complaining about the Americans plundering the treasure that the Spanish plundered from the natives is a little... stupid? Naive? Wilfully ignorant?
The premise is good: does a treasure hunter have the absolute right to keep whatever he finds, or does he owe something to the country whose ship it was and/or the country where the wreck was found? There is the seed of a really interesting movie or series there - but La Fortuna isn't it.
