Fatal Secrets (2009)

spoilers - a story of revenge

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS --wow. Pretty low rating on imdb and on tomatoes, as of today. Roku has this as balancing the books, but imdb thinks it's fatal secrets. One demerit for strange editing... all kinds of jumps, just in the first two minutes, in a scene which is supposed to start out romantic and cozy. I guess that was the director's way of getting the viewer's attention, since it morphs into a rape scene. Which then morphs into waking from a dream. Confusing. Julia (dina meyer) appears to have been raped by a co-worker (vincent spano), but instead of going to the police, she starts stalking him. Some fun co-stars; ed begley. Lea thompson had her own tv series in the nineties. There's a weird, un-necessary flashback 27 minutes in... we're shown a quick summary of the horrible event, even though we just watched it twenty minutes back, and we all remember it well. Bad editing. Two minutes later, julia is touching her friend's scars, as they trade stories. Did she really need to touch them? Some odd directing choices being made. Clearly, with the anger julia is holding on to, she needs to go to the coppers, but instead she breaks into his house. A fair amount of suspense.. first waiting to see if julia gets caught. And later seeing if they can actually get justice for all the evil he has done. Thompson gives a great performance. Many references to "justice".. julia's friends keep talking about justice for what she went through, and her co-worker scott has a book titled justice for all. And one of the actors in the film is actually named justice. The story is mostly sound. Clearly has some producion flaws. Directed by meir sharony. Story by cathy cotter. Not the best film ever made, but probably not the worst.
