weird story line

Warning: Spoilers
When robert (paddy considine) leaves the big city, he heads to the quiet of the countryside. He stalks his neighbor jenny (julia stiles), and even tells her he has been watching her. Too weird. Everyone on the planet except jenny would have gone inside and called the cops. But she doesn't, and even invites him inside. Danger, will robinson! That pretty much lost me right there. Jenny already has a boyfriend (greg). Flashbacks to robert going through angry divorce procedings. Robert even tells jenny that he thinks about killing his ex wife... jenny says she loves him, but she seems to want to cure him of his mental health issues. I've given up caring, since jenny deserves whatever she gets at this point. Its so lame. Bad stuff happens. Not much good stuff happens. Directed by jamie thraves, who does a lot of work with music videos. Based on the novel by the amazing pat highsmith; she had also written strangers on a train, and several versions of talented mr. Ripley. They are still making films from her works, even though she died in 1995. I wonder if people were that gullible in the original novel. Pretty dark ending... a lot of blood and guts.
