An Average Attempt of a Debut of Jim Henson Studios
11 May 2022
This and Elmo In Grouchland have came out the same year as an attempt to debut Jim Henson Studios that's dedicated to the puppeteer that brought us The Muppets themselves. But failed because of the box office bomb, and this movie is pretty understandable how. Muppets From Space is not a bad film, but is the one that was the start when the 2000s wasn't a good decade for The Muppets at the time. The story is weak that loses its touch. The characters don't have a lot of development. And the comedy can end up being hit and miss. But this movie would have some redeeming qualities with a bit of charm from the muppets. The actors have seem to have fun playing as the Muppets we know and love. It has a great concept of having a backstory of Gonzo and what he is. And even if the special effects can be dated, the puppetry stays faithful to the spirit of The Muppets. I know there's going to be Muppet fans that would binge through the movies like this one, so as someone who has grew up with it, this will probably be for them. However this would be more targeted towards kids since there would be kiddish humor they'll enjoy. Maybe if the movie has made a couple more dollars to raise the budget, the studio would've continued. As for this film, at least it does try to give Gonzo development.
