Good but timid
20 May 2022
This was a good attempt at bringing the wonderful novel "Manhattan Nocturne" to the big screen.

The best thing about this is the acting, the music and New York. The screenplay and direction by DeCubellis although competent, lacks imagination, flair and bite. I felt like they removed a lot of the edge from the novel and made it quite safe. Still enjoyable though and definitely something different than the usual Hollywood products.

Brody is good, but seems a bit watered down and Strahovski is amazing (and gorgeous) despite her character losing some of its edge, compared to the book (through no fault of her own, of course).

Recommended for something different and for the acting.
