I was a young boy of 8 when I first saw this series.
I had to beg my parents to let me stay up to see it, and I watched most of the programme from the safety of being behind the sofa! It was absolutely terrifying and much much better than the film version a few years later!
I loved it and obviously still have very fond memories of the series. I think it caused a few nightmares! Brilliant early television.
