Created by Jared Keeso as a spin-off of this previous series Letterkenny, this time around we follow the previously very tertiary character "Shoresy" (played by Kesso); an extremely foul mouthed but sensitive hockey player for the Sudbury Bulldogs. The cast features a range of real former hockey players and goes for great Canadian representation much like Letterkenny did. I love Kesso's comedy, however I wasn't originally sold by the pilot, the show did win me over by the end of its short 6 episode first season. Hockey is of course a primary theme so more will relate to that than others, the humour was exactly what you'd expect from Kesso in the extremely fast paced, rapid fire jokes, lots of argumentative bantering. In fact a lot of the conversations could have been lifted and placed onto any character, the wit comes from the material itself, not so much the characters. Personally I liked Letterkenny considerably more (gave 4/5), both the original online skits and the early series, and even though I'd say Letterkenny is a better show overall I'm much more looking forward to Shoresy season 2 than I am the upcoming Letterkenny season 11, if that tells you about where it sits.
