HIMYM is at its weakest and worst when it's trying to act as if it's a serious drama with skillful and competent writers and that is shown again in this episode. Marshall and Lilly's argument is supposed to be this deep, serious, moving theme, but in reality the terrible writing makes it a lame, boring, pathetic eye-rolling fest. Add to that that Marshall and Lilly are the absolute worst and most annoying characters in the recent seasons (if not during the whole series) and their scenes just make you want to skip ahead. The part with Barney telling truth was OK, but not great.
