An Inspirational Story that Needed to Be Told
14 June 2022
Sports can be an instrument for the betterment of a person, Sports in any shape or form have this ingrained ability to unite people, to diminish the very barriers of socio-economical disparities, it can even be a life-altering experience for some, and I think, that's what the makers had tried to convey.

Hence, as far as the message is concerned; Jhund has done its job remarkably well, the film did put emphasis and time where it was most needed (the matches, the upheaval, the transition). However, from a cinematic viewpoint; there are not one but multiple discrepancies to be found, which cannot go unnoticed.

For instance, the Screenplay here seems to be overly elongated so much so that at one point it had become quite unendurable. I believe, a more compact write-up would have made a huge impact on the overall output. The characterization too had indicated few notable signs of struggle, thus it couldn't provide any kind of aid either. Thankfully, the Performances were more than fine, and this must be mentioned, considering the fact a vast majority of this ensemble were non-actors.

Now the question is what do I suggest? Should you give it a shot or maintain your distance? Well, it's an inspirational story without a doubt, a story that needed to be told. If you're in the mood for motivational sports dramas and are not bothered about the runtime (nearly 180 mins); then you are more than welcome to try it out. You won't regret it, I assure you.
