When this show was airing in 2012 it was before so many of the big cultural shifts that we think of as defining America's media culture now. And people who are supporters of this type of political comedy now would probably look back and be surprised at the amount of backlash this show got only 10 years ago. W Kamau Bell made honest comedy for his leftist audience and did it in a fun way. It really felt like the show could have been run out of someone's basement and I mean that in the best way possible. In that same type of unpolished atmosphere you get from FX shows like Always Sunny. Very enjoyable and would highly recommend.
