They don't encounter the "Beast" until halfway through the movie. And then, he does nothing but try to hunt them down for the rest of the movie as if there was nothing else to eat.
Then they end up winning a physical wrestling match with him after several minutes and barely taking scratch with a single dart. It should have been somewhat more realistic. It would have been much enjoyable if I hadn't been constantly sighing and rolling my eyes. He immediately passes out once poked with the small dart. Anyone/everyone knows that an animal of this size would take a significant amount of juice/time to knock it out.
