Entrapped (2022– )
6/10
Anemic; Lacks Tension
18 December 2022
The viewer might be waylaid somehow by this limited series. At the start, the viewer is introduced to the conflict between a cult and bikers' gang. And he thinks that this will be the main thrust of the story which looks promising because of the latent tension and violence that could go with it. However, the focus shifts to investigating the murder of a young cult member. Is this clear shift worthwhile? Not quite because it lacks suspense. The investigation is straightforward although, like all whodunnit films, the culprit is revealed only in the end.

There's also a sub-plot that deals with drug trafficking but this doesn't have traction for lack of time to develop it.

One can't help but to compare this and the original Icelandic series, "Trapped," which was better made with better storylines.

The main actors (who are the same ones as in "Trapped") dish out decent performances without the help of a soundtrack that stands out. Nothing really to crow about. At least, the viewer gets to see the natural beauty of Iceland which the camera captures beautifully.
