It's probably the writing, and perhaps the producers had predetermined what they wanted to see. Even the acting lacks enthusiasm and a sense of real engagement. The villains are a joke; the fear and power that the police confer is wildly disproportionate to their obvious cartoonish fantasy. Asking viewers to believe the strutting 90-pound senior citizen as a real threat is just ridiculous.
The greatest tragedy is how the writing so forces the plot, and abuses viewers trust. Trapped let viewers come to know Andi, including his human qualities, not superhuman, and we admire him, like him and trust him.
Entrapped rudely and unskillfully contrives to poke viewers in the eye and lead us to feel foolish for trusting Andi - and for trusting the writers and producers.
