Comedy at its finest
20 January 2023
As adorable as the 1948 Unfaithfully Yours was, the 1984 is twice as cute. As funny as Rex Harrison was, Dudley Moore is twice as hilarious. Nothing can compare with this classic '80s comedy. The script, timing, and ridiculous performances are fantastic. It's extremely similar to the original, though, so just in case you love the old one, you'll be relieved to know they didn't "improve" much.

If you don't know the story, Dudley Moore stars as a famed conductor married to the beautiful Natassja Kinski. He's very secure in his relationship, but due to a miscommunication between his manager Albert Brooks and his valet Richard Libertini, a private detective is hired to follow Natassja while Dudley is out of town. After reading the report, Dudley becomes mad with jealously as he believes his wife is cheating on him with his protégée violinist Armand Assante. The solution, in a zany comedy of course, is not confrontation or divorce - but murder! As the movie continues the more ridiculous his antics get, and it's wildly entertaining! Dudley is at his absolute finest in this movie; if you don't adore him after this movie, get your funny bone checked.
