The director,Er Cheng,is an amazing creator,with high artistic accomplishment. The film was his brainchild of seven years,and each of the actors in it contributed superb performances. Although the film is about a war time scene,it's full of quiet oriental aesthetics rather than bloody war scenes. With a strong directorial style and a unique non-linear narrative method,the film let viewers can not help but think about the story lines. Because of this,the film becamed the most watched film in 2023 Spring Festival season. Believe me,it's a good thought-provoking film that you'll enjoy if you watch it carefully.
