I got into this show yesterday morning after seeing the first couple of episodes & I hafta say, Soul Food (The TV Series)" was totally worth the watch. What makes this show very beautiful is the fact that it has such beautiful theme songs with the first one being performed by Al Green & the second one with him featuring Sy Smith. I also like that in early episodes of the show, Irma P. Hall made recurring appearances as Mama Joe in flashback sequences which involved herself speaking some words of wisdom to her daughters Teri, Maxine & Bird alongside her little grandson Ahmad. It was also very soothing & entertaining to say the least. I especially love listening to Aaron Meeks narrate the show similar to how Brandon Hammond narrated the film this show was based on. I can also say with a straight face that I do NOT consider "Soul Food (The TV Series)" to be a guilty pleasure being so I do NOT have any & I also enjoyed seeing the later season opening sequences that shown the cast members dancing to the theme song together. & Another thing, This is one of the coolest Paramount Television shows ever produced! :)
