Well aged and fun to watch 80's cartoon
19 February 2023
I vaguely remember this cartoon from my childhood and I only watched one or two episodes back then and I enjoyed it so much therefore I decided to watch it on YouTube recently. Even though I'm an adult now, surprisingly, I'm still enjoying watching this. This is basically a Saturday morning cartoon, and it is almost 40 years old right now, but I can say it is well aged and still fun to watch. All characters but one are quite likeable, and every character has different personalities and powers. There is some better than average writing in some episodes, like "The Dragon's Graveyard" and the final episode "Requiem." This is essentially a RPG in cartoon form with a fantasy setting. I just dislike Eric, the Cavalier character and useless baby unicorn who acts and sounds like a lamb. Eric is arrogant, coward and selfish, but writers sometimes use him for comedic effect and make him a clown. Unicorn is only here as a mascot for the group; he is mostly uselles, and he occasionally finds himself in damsel-in-distress situations. Otherwise, all other characters are quite likeable, different, and sympathetic, and their adventures in every episode are quite exciting and intriguing. I recommend this cartoon to everyone, regardless of age.
