Like this scene. It builds more character amongst the crew. They're crew and family. But I don't like how the choking was just shoehorned into the scene as a call back to Alien. They're about to start their journey and the scene is implying that she already has a chestburster in her? Just seems very missed placed. They literally wasted James Franco and his talents in this movie. Not tie this to the movie is bad decision, at least put it on the last for Daniels flashback before she go hypersleep. Obviously this should've never been excluded from the story because most of the characters are expendable and unmemorable. This short time with these characters had more context and purpose than anything this half-witted story "attempted" after Prometheus. I'm also bothered about James Franco and Danny McBride somehow being the selling points but neither of these buffoons are given anything meaningful to do. At the end, these characters were either really stupid or just there to be savagely murdered by aggressive extraterrestrials.
I could never understand why they even cast James F in this to be burned alive in opening scene
