(1930) The Big Trail WESTERN

Directed by Raoul Walsh synonymous for well known gangster movies such as "White Heat", "High Sierra" and "The Roaring Twenties". This stars John Wayne as a cowhand raised by natives, Breck Coleman seeking retribution for the slaughter and murder of his friend. He does this by tagging along a wagon train seeking for better settlements.

This movie was supposed to be the Western movie to uplift John Wayne's social status, and it flopped, despite a moderate budget more than many of John Wayne's early quickie cheapie's he made during this time. It works as a non action Western as character study.
