Life Lessons From a Sushi Master - Jiro Ono
4 May 2023
Simply put, "Jiro Dreams of Sushi' (2011) is a documentary about a man's life, philosophy, and journey to becoming a world renowned sushi master. And much like Jiro Ono, this film keeps things simple but so exciting.

My experience to this film is similar but certainly a lesser experience than if someone were to visit Jiro's restaurant. My expectations were relatively high coming into this film, but it still left me satisfied and smiling. This even with the premise sounding too simple and yet like Jiro its the simplicity and tidiness that keeps the film perfectly balanced for the viewer.

This film gives a sense of purpose in your life as you witness a master of their craft continue to work towards improving. Its inspiring for anyone who may feel stuck in their life or career. To become great you must devote yourself to your craft like Jiro. Dedication and constant reflection are life lessons that anyone could use at any point in their lives. And Jiro sets an example for the whole world to bear witness to.

Give this documentary a watch if you have been pushing it off like I did. Its so good. And if you have seen it well then watch again when you need some inspiration.
