Flint Lockwood lives on the island of Swallow Falls in the Atlantic Ocean. Swallow Falls relies on its sardine industry for survival but globally people are eating less sardines, shrinking the island's economy and forcing the inhabitants to live entirely off their sardine catch. Flint invents a machine that can manufacture food from water. After some teething problems it seems like it could be a winner. There are still some glitches though...
A good animated comedy-drama. While it is clearly more a kids movie, it has its adult appeal too. Sweet, unpretentious and well written with some good adventures to keep the audience enthralled.
Gets a bit too silly near the end, but that would be the only major negative.
