Touching Evil (1997–1999)
3/10
Season One & Two

Warning: Spoilers
SEASON ONE

The first two stories were intriguing primarily because the villains were both psychopaths. The third story was not as compelling because the culprits were teenagers. Perhaps they were being controlled by a psychopath but that wasn't highlighted in the story.

Meanwhile, there was a renegade vigilante officer who winds up shooting someone while they're incarcerated. Not only that, he commits murder while four officers just stand around. And are those officers brought up on charges? Suspended? NO.

ALSO The lead character, Dave Creegan, is supposed to be someone who had a near-death experience. Yet he exhibits none of the humility that such an experience would bestow a person. Other reviewers speak of Robson Green as a heart throb. But his characterization of Dave Creegan is off. Nicola Walker is fabulous, as always.

This series would have been fantastic if the writers had kept their feet on the ground and the directors were familiar with near death experiences and the mark it makes on a personality.

SEASON TWO

OMG, if you EVER thought the British were superior to Americans, episode 1 will cure you.

Neither Creegan nor his weak-kneed associate have the stones to do what's necessary. Which results in a perfectly innocent girl being killed unnecessarily and Creegan almost losing his life as well. I'm fifteen minutes in and REFUSE to watch anymore of this series.
