Although it tries hard, it's a pale reflection of the original. Ironic really as sitcoms usually struggle to go from the small screen to the Cinema. This is the reverse,it tries too hard to pack as many gags as it can into each shot and fails miserably. It strikes me that someone came across the original film and thought hey, this would make a great series. Sadly not. This is a waste of some fantastic talent and hopefully many of the younger cast are destined for fine careers, but they are let down by a woefully inadequate script. What a shame as I really like the original and I was keen to watch the series.
