Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't expecting Bloodsport 2 to be a masterpiece, but the whole thing's pretty woeful. It's more like a remake than a sequel, almost everything's the same.

The original has lots of cheese too, but there's inspiration and triumph in it. Lead actor Bernhardt's pretty close to being Van Damme in appearance and expression, but we just don't care if he wins or not and the counterpart's not nearly as threatening either. Leading up to the final fight, the antagonist's crushing everyone and looks like an imposing figure, but when our fighter's on the mat with him, he hardly looks that way at all. The film has name Asian actors in James Hong and Pat Morita, with the criminal from "Tango & Cash," which Hong was also in. Sun just decides to teach this random foreign guy his unique skills for no reason, along with being involved in a silly looking fight scene. Jackson's back and you've got some ridiculous girl fighter and some monkey sound effects for a guy rolling on the floor. Don't even get me started on the love interest... bah.
