Cassie Denham is on trial. Her relatives want her declared mentally incompetent and institutionalized. They want her $3 million fortune. She's as sharp as a tack and the case is promptly dismissed. Later, all the relatives get invited to her home at the same time for a family gathering.
This opens with a courtroom scene. I don't always love those, but this one is fun. It's a good start and the central premise is pretty interesting. This becomes a whodunnit murder mystery, but it may be better to make a horror thriller out of it. The family gathers at the mansion at midnight. They could be waiting for Cassie to declare on dispersing her fortune as they get killed off one by one. That would be a more exciting movie. As it stands, I'm lost on the characters. More people keep arriving. The rooms don't look grand enough for a mansion. This could have been so much better. I do like the final twist. I love the start and the end.
