As I sat down to watch this 2023 action thriller titled "Sympathy for the Devil", I must admit that I wasn't really harboring much of any high hopes or expectations to it, figuring it would be just another run-of-the-mill typical Nicolas Cage movie. In fact, I had never actually heard about the movie prior to sitting down to watch it.
However, I will say that writer Luke Paradise actually put together an interesting script that proved entertaining and enjoyable. And director Yuval Adler definitely brought something enjoyable to the screen with this 2023 movie. I was actually adequately entertained throughout the course of the 90 minutes that the movie ran for. The storyline is one where writer Luke Paradise keeps the audience in the dark, letting us guess as to what is actually going on. And that gamble worked out well enough in the narrative of the story.
The acting in the movie was good, despite the fact that it was only Nicolas Cage and Joel Kinnaman throughout the vast majority of the movie. "Sympathy for the Devil" turned out to not be an archetypical Nicolas Cage movie, for better or worse.
I will say that "Sympathy for the Devil" is well-worth sitting down and checking out. I was genuinely entertained with what writer Luke Paradise and director Yuval Adler delivered.
