I'm a sucker for horror and found it pretty enjoyable overall

Overall a good movie. The overarching narrative part kinda sucked and wasnt utilized very well(a common V/H/S tale lol) but the other parts had their moments. Completely spoilery review below, I highly recommend watching the movie even if you get spoiled though.

Dreamkill was the best short by far imo. Gunther stole the show. It had creepy shorts and the body horror left me appropriately squeamish. Its directed by Scott Derickson of Sinister fame and you see the DNA of that movie in here.

No Wake was also very good but needed a conclusion that was stronger. The second part, Ambrosia, felt kind of out of left field and a couple of more minutes tacked on the end would have helped.

The earthquake one was kinda weird. Great monster design but it was too slow at the start. I think they were trying to go for the effect Raatma had in the previous VHS movie but it didnt succeed as well. I wanted more shots of the creepy death god.

TKNOGD was fun. The sermon the girl was giving to summon the apparition felt appropriately creepy. There were some cringy lines though. You'll see what I mean when you watch the short.

Stick around for the credits btw. Theres no after credits scene but the song is fire.

Watch the movie. I would have seen it regardless but I think even non horror fans are going to enjoy this.
