Decent with many limitations.

The Child - 1977 (This Film Rates a B- ) The film opens in the 1930's with a storm and a young girl offering a kitten to something demonic behind a gravestone. Flash forward to a silly car accident involving a rogue steel drum. Here we meet Alicianne who took a job as a nanny to young Rosalie Nordon. The family there is odd, but we eventually understand why. People are also afraid of "animals" in the woods which turns out to be something other than animals. We also start to see the not so nice side to Rosalie. Alicianne cleans up after a Halloween party (which we don't get to see anything) and is frightened by a moving jack o' lantern. Seems like Rosalie can move objects and command demonic forces to kill for her. "They do me favors". And when she gets angry no one is safe and with no escape. There are zombies, helpless women and a not so surprising ending that fits. The acting is pretty poor, and the script is not that great however the story builds well. The soundtrack isn't spectacular musically, but it layers nicely with the overall foreboding atmosphere. Sadly, there are too many areas where it was too dark to see anything. The gore isn't plentiful but there are a few moments. None of it is real looking. No T&A. The film is decent with a lot of limitations.
