(1939) Invisible Stripes
CRIME DRAMA
Adapted from the book by Warden, Lewis E. Lawes with Clift Taylor (George Raft) just leaving prison and wanting to go straight. He also happens to have a younger brother name Tim (William Holden) engaged to be married to his fiance, Peggy (Jane Bryan). This is just as entertaining as other gangster films even though the plot is very standard if by seeing so many of them, but I have to say that it's a nice change of pace to see someone else playing this role about a ex- gangster trying to go straight!!! The film works if by first in the mood to watch an old gangster film, and two if you go into this film without knowing what to expect.
