Taylor Tomlinson: Look at You (2022 TV Special)
8/10
Another great stand-up special from Taylor Tomlinson
6 November 2023
A stand-up special in Boston by comedienne Taylor Tomlison. In her routine Tomlison covers things like mental health, including her own mental health issues, their sources and treatments, her family and relationships, especially hers with men.

Another incredibly funny stand-up special by Taylor Tomlinson. 'Quarter-Life Crisis', released on Netflix in 2020, was great and this follows in a similar vein.

We have her relationships with her parents, which seems frayed but ultimately isn't. There's her relationships with men, which forms the core of all her material and is the edgier, dirtier stuff (watch out prudes!).

The great addition here is the mental health stuff which is quite dark, original, self-deprecating and refreshing.

As with 'Quarter-Life Crisis' her theatrics and delivery are spot-on. On the negative side, and consistent with that special, some jokes and skits are a clumsy and/or feel a bit repetitive.

A very funny show, nonetheless.
