John Carter (2012)
9/10
Truly A Martian Masterpiece!

As someone who has read all the books I honestly believe that the movie does a great job at bringing it to the big screen and sticking to the story in such a way that it is still John Carter in essence while also making sure it's enjoyable for the viewer.

The storyline is solid, I enjoyed it even knowing what could have been if it was 100% accurate to the books, but lets be honest that is impossible and this adaptation is still amazing. I enjoyed it and I'm sure you will love the story and its twists and turns as well.

The casting is absolutely incredible, there is literally nothing I could see being better about it. Taylor Kitsch plays our leading man John Carter and absolutely kills it in his role as planet jumping, Virginia cavalryman who finds love on Mars and a cave of gold back on Earth.

The stunning Lynn Collins plays the Martian Princess Dejah Thoris, whose known in the books as the most beautiful woman on all of Mars. Lynn Collins brings that description of Dejah Thoris to life on-screen and more importantly does a wonderful job of portraying her fierceness, personality and character to all.

Willem Dafoe and Dominic West are amazing supporting cast members and bring the movie full circle. Plus Mark Strong is always great to see.

The VFX and SFX are great, Love the flying machines, weapons, costumes, everything. I have no faults with anything there.

Overall a very well deserved 9/10 from me. The storyline is great, the cast is out of this world and the effects and costumes immerse you in the world of Mars. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested and would also recommend giving the books a read as well as they are awesome.
