Fourteen Years in Hell
13 December 2023
The wealthy cinephile Jack Witten calls the police when he finds the body of a young woman in his home. The CSIs investigate the scene and Sara believes that he repeated the murder he committed fourteen years ago, when the 18-year-old Darcy Blaine left a bar with him and then she disappeared. However, Russell asks her to focus in the present murder. Jack tells Brass and Ecklie that he was watching a movie in his soundproof room and has not listened anything. Soon the victim is identified as the 18-year-old Gwen Onetta, who had three drug arrests recently. When Greg and Finn find the preservation room, they also find a gagged woman tied up and she says that Jack did it to her. The woman, Emily Bridwell is sent to the hospital and soon they identify Emily and Gwen as burglars. However, Emily dies in the hospital and Dr. Robbins finds a roll of film in her stomach. Soon the CSIs learn what happened fourteen years ago with Darcy Blaine.

"Frame by Frame" is a great episode of "CSI", with an old case being closed with the present investigation. The plot is well written and resolved by the investigators. Darcy Blaine was eighteen years old fourteen years ago. Therefore, her father was confused when he says that she would be thirty years old. Sara jumps to the conclusion, but fortunately Russell is an experienced CSI, avoiding another serious mistake from her. My vote is eight.
