"'Twas the Blight Before Christmas"
24 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
An oldie but a goodie. Still as funny in 2023 as it was when I first watched it three decades ago.

My second favourite Home Improvement episode after the one where Tim's brother and Jill's parents come for Christmas (which I believe is Season 4), featuring a line from Tim the Toolman I still employ all these years later: "Christmas is not about being with people you like. It's about being with your family."

Brad wants to go skiing at Boyne Mountain on Christmas. He thinks it's the perfect time because he doesn't have school and he can take his presents with him. Hence the line I quote above.

Tim is convinced that Doc Johnson has a spy inside the Taylor household because the good doctor seems to be one step ahead of him in the lighting contest. Doc Johnson doesn't have Three Wise Tool Guys, though. Randy admits he was "pumped for information" by Doc Johnson's granddaughter. Tim is aghast because a family's lighting strategy is sacred.

The LEON scene at the church, Brad's "note" about skiing and an ESPN gag from Wilson that still makes me chuckle. I love seeing their neighbour not standing behind the fence. On this occasion, a hymn book hides his face from view.
